The 2022 Asia Cup is planned to be the fifteenth release of the Asia Cup cricket competition, with the matches being played as Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) during August and September 2022 in the United Arab Emirates.
Initially booked to be held in September 2020, the competition was delayed to July 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It was then rescheduled to happen in Sri Lanka in June 2021, preceding being deferred again. Pakistan was booked to have the competition subsequent to holding the freedom to have the 2022 release.
In any case, in October 2021, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) reported that Sri Lanka would have the competition in 2022, with Pakistan facilitating the 2023 release.
India is the reigning champ. On 21 July 2022, the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) informed the ACC that they wouldn't be in that frame of mind to have the competition because of the financial and political emergency in the country.
On 27 July 2022, the ACC affirmed that the competition would be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), The apparatuses for the competition were reported on 2 August 2022.
