The BCCI stated, "The COVID-19 pandemic poses a serious threat to the health of individuals and the cooperation, commitment and adherence by each Person Subject To These Operational Rules to the measure put in place to provide a safe environment are of paramount importance." BCCI has declared the consequences for the bubble-breaches by the players, match officials and others, family members, etc. Let’s see what will be the consequences. 1. ‘Bio-bubble’ violation from player/match officials/ team officials First-time violators will have to go through a 7-days quarantine and these players and officials will not be paid for skipping the matches. And those who will breach the 2nd time will be suspended from one match, while the third time offenders will be eliminated from IPL 2022 and there will no replacement for them. For those who will not Covid Test, If it is for the first time, there will be a strict warning but for the 2nd time, there will be a fine of 75000 and will not be allowed entry into the stadium or training facility. 2. Bio-Bubble neglection from Family Members For the first offense, "7-day quarantine for the family member or such other period re-quarantine as may be provided in the Health & Safety Protocols during IPL 2022 and 7-day quarantine for the relevant Player, Team Official or Match Official or such other period quarantine as may be provided in the Health & Safety Protocols during IPL 2022 (without pay for the number of matches missed).” For the second offense, there will be a permanent removal of a Family member from the IPL bio-bubble and the related player/office will have to accept the 7 days re quarantine and no payment for the matches missed. 3. Other Sanctions If any person enters the bio-secure bubble and makes contact with the player or its family member without going through 7 days quarantine or without observing the measures mentioned in the protocols of IPL 2022 then the Franchise will also have to suffer the punishment along with the player. The franchise has to bear the fine of 1 crore for the first time, for the second time there will be a deduction of 1 point and for the more offenses, there will deduction of 2 points for each offense. “Unauthorised departure from the Bio-Secure Bubble of a Player, or a family member of the same, resulting in a need for the Player to re-quarantine for 7 days or such period as provided in the Health & Safety Protocols during IPL 2022." For this breach, Franchise will also be required to pay the fine on a pro-rata basis which would have been given to the player if he would have played the match.
