Lucknow Super Giants was established on October 25, 2021. LSG was formed for Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The Lucknow franchise is owned by RPSG Group. From 2016–17, RPSG Group owned the Rising Pune Supergiant franchise in the Indian Premier League. Gautam Gambhir was assigned as the team's mentor. The home stadium of the Lucknow Super Giants is the BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium. The team plays under the guidance of coach Andy Flower. KL Rahul has been appointed to the helm of the LSG. In their debut season, LSG qualified for the playoffs but were not able to win the playoff against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
