Teams in the Big Bash League 2022-23
This Season of Big Bash League 2022-23 starts from 13 Dec 2022 and ends in 04 February 2023.
Sydney Sixers:
The Sydney Sixers were formed when the decision was made to shift the domestic Twenty20 tournament away from state-representative teams and toward city-based teams. This change is thought to have been made to match its structure with that of India and South Africa, where local teams are organized around cities. This was significant for the current Champions League Twenty20 tournament, in which those three countries were founding members. For an eight-team competition, it was determined that two teams from Sydney, two teams from Melbourne, and one from each other major city would compete. Cricket NSW chose the names Sixers (and Thunder for cross-city rivals). Rocks and Edge were two other names suggested for the two squads.
The Sydney Sixers are an Australian professional franchise men's cricket team that competes in the Big Bash League, Australia's domestic Twenty20 cricket league (BBL). The Sixers, together with the Sydney Thunder, are the successors to the New South Wales Blues, who competed in the now-defunct KFC Twenty20 Big Bash. The Sixers play at Sydney Cricket Ground in the inner city's southeast, while the Thunder play at Sydney Showground Stadium farther west. Trevor Bayliss was the first coach, and he was replaced in 2015 by current coach Greg Shipperd. Brad Haddin, the Sixers' first captain, was an Australian wicketkeeper. Both Steve Smith and Moises Henriques have served as team captains.

In the 2012/13 Big Bash League final, the Brisbane Heat beat the Perth Scorchers. On January 19, 2013, the match was held at the WACA Ground.
Due to the absence of captain James Hopes due to injury, Chris Hartley led the team and won the toss, opting to bat first. Joe Burns led the way for Brisbane, scoring 43 runs off 27 balls in a total of 167. For the Scorchers, Jason Behrendorff grabbed two wickets.

They subsequently won the following two championships in a row, becoming the first team in the league's short history to do so. These victories came in a last-ball drama at Canberra's Manuka Oval against the Hobart Hurricanes and the Sydney Sixers.
The Scorchers brought in a slew of foreign bats for BBL10, including Livingstone, Joe Clarke (cricketer), Colin Munro, and Jason Roy. For this tournament, Ashton Turner was selected as captain. The Scorchers started slowly, with three losses and a tie in their first four games. They snapped their losing streak on New Year's Eve, defeating the Adelaide Strikers, and went on to win eight of their next 10 games, finishing second in the table behind the Sydney Sixers.
