Team India proudly won the 2nd test against Australia by 6 wickets.

Border-Gavaskar Trophy is reserved by India after finishing of the 2nd Test of India vs Australia Series. Like the first test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy second test also brought victory for men in blue. Australia tour of India is not looking fruitful for kangaroos as they have lost the two consecutive matches of India vs Australia Series of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. 

Team India proudly won the 2nd test against Australia by 6 wickets. Currently, India is leading a by 2-0 in the four-match series of India vs Australia Series of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. 

The alluring second test match played between February 17, 2023 to February 19, 2023 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. 

Highlights: Border-Gavaskar Trophy, 2nd Test Match 

Match started with the toss which was won by kangaroos. Team Australia opted for batting. 

  • Australia’s 1st Inning –  

Mohammed Shami showed his magic of spinning in the first innings of the India vs Australia Series of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Although David Warner lost his wicket early but Khwaja and Hanscom made a partnership of 59 runs. Australia’s game was progressing until Ravindra Jadeja took a vital wicket of Usman Khawaja. Knocking out Khawaja was vey important for India as he was in form and made 81 runs off 125 deliveries. Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets each while Shami topped them by taking 4 wickets. Indian bowlers restricted Australia Team to 263/10 in 78.4 overs. 

  • India’s 1st Inning –  

Again, this time also India lost their early wickets though Rohit Sharma scored 32 runs off 62 balls and Virat Kohli came back with 44 runs from 84 balls. But they both also knocked out by Aussies. As always to handle this complicated situation India’s all rounders build their form and helped blues to score 262/10 in 83.3 overs. 

  • Australia’s 2nd Inning –  

After domination of Mohammed Shami in the 1st innings of Australia. Ravindra Jadeja choked Australia batsmen. Ravindra Jadeja played his career best by snatching 7 wickets while giving away 42 runs at an economy of 3.7.  Ashwin and Jadeja showed exceptional balling and limited Australia to 113/10 in 31.1 overs. Only Head was able to score high for kangaroos - 43 runs off 46 balls. 
Indian bowlers Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin played their level best and broke Australia’s batting line-up. Australia had done worst batting in the 2nd innings of the second test match of Border Gavaskar Trophy. Australia were looking unobservant in the field.

  • India’s 2nd Inning –  

Team India won very easily as they stepped on the field with a very low target. Rohit Sharma was in good form as he made 31 runs off 20 balls until he knocked out. Virat got good runs too but he stumped first time in his test career. Then Cheteshwar Pujara (31) and Srikar Bharat (23) held the match with care to propelled India towards the glorified victory. Exciting match ended with the winning moment for men in blue by a boundary from Pujara’s bat.
