IND vs PAK Womens T20 World Cup 2023: A Winning Moment

India vs Pakistan match was 4th match of Group B of the ongoing Women’s T20 World Cup played at the Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town. Women or men doesn’t matter, Team India has the only aim of winning the trophy.  

ICC Women’s T20 World Cup has started in a positive note for Team India. Women in Blue inaugurate their world cup journey of 2023 by defeating greens. Team India by defeating Pakistan gave a message to other teams to be cautious from them. IND vs PAK match was breathtaking till the end as no one is able to judge who will win.  

India trounced Pakistan by 7 wickets with one spare over in Group B match of Women’s T20 World Cup 2023. Women in Blue made record of second highest run chaser in Women’s T20 World Cup history. Take a look at the highlights of this glorious match.  

Highlights of the IND vs PAK Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 

Pakistan won the toss and opted for batting. India knock out some early wickets of Pakistan. Still recovery has done by greens. Bismah Maroof’s half century and Ayesha Naseem’s unbeaten 43* runs managed to score 149/4 in 20 overs for Pakistan women. 

Later, India has started decently with Yastika Bhatia and Shafali Verma but early wickets of Yastika Bhatia and unwanted dismissals of Shafali Verma and Harmanpreet Kaur made tensed scenario for Indian fans. But women in blue did not take any stress and continued their power pack game. All thanks to Jemimah Rodrigues and Richa Ghosh, their 58 runs partnership guided India towards a famous victory. Jemimah Rodrigues’s half century and Richa Ghosh’s boundaries helped India to score 151/3 in just 19 overs which propelled them to win IND vs PAK Women’s T20 World Cup 2023. Not to mention, Jemimah Rodrigues won the Player of the Match Award for her brilliant performance. 

Bowlers also gave their contribution in limiting the runs for the chase for India. Deepti Sharma and Pooja Vastrakar picked up one wicket each and Radha Yadav took two wickets. 

Competitors in field, friends in dressing room 

India vs Pakistan matches are always considered as high voltage matches among all the matches of world due to their popular rivalry. But this well-known fight was only visible in the field. After winning a smashing match, Indian players visit Pakistan’s dressing room. In dressing room India and Pakistan women showed their chemistry. They were all in smiles. Laughter, hugs and jerseys were exchanged among the skippers in the cordial meeting. Team India captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Pakistan all-rounder Nida Dar exchanged signed jerseys of their specific teams and posed for a sweet photo. Blues and greens were indulged in friendly conversations. They were taking selfies and group photos. Pakistan Cricket Twitter handle shared the video for the same. 

It was so delighted to see how India and Pakistan were spending some good time with each other. Both the teams have taught that competition should be limited to the ground only.
