The FIFA World Cup 2022 will take place between November 21 and December 18, 2022.

The FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar will be the 22nd FIFA World Cup, an international men’s football tournament that is scheduled to take place in Qatar from 21 November to 18 December 2022. The bidding process to host the tournament ended on 11 April 2010, and Qatar was selected by the FIFA Executive Committee as the host nation on 2 December 2010. The decision was made following an inspection visit in March 2010, when it was also determined that the Al Rayyan Stadium met all the minimum criteria set by FIFA at the time of the visit, despite requiring some further development work before hosting matches at the World Cup.

When and where is it taking place?

The FIFA World Cup 2022 will take place between November 21 and December 18, 2022. It will be the first time that a football tournament has been held in both the western and eastern hemispheres. It will also mark the first time an Arab country is holding the tournament since its inception in 1930. The Gulf nation of Qatar has won the bid over bids by Japan, South Korea, and the United States of America

Which teams have qualified so far?

1) The host nation, Qatar. 2) Russia, as the best team from Europe 3) Brazil, the best team from South America 4) Mexico, the best team from North America 5) Iran and Japan from Asia 6) Tunisia and Morocco from Africa 7) Uruguay and Jordan from CONCACAF 8 )France, Portugal, Croatia, Denmark, Sweden and Switzerland from UEFA 9) Australia and Peru from CONMEBOL 10) Poland and Colombia from CONMEBOL 11) Korea Republic and Saudi Arabia from AFC 12) Costa Rica, Jamaica, and Panama from CONCACAF 13) Egypt, Senegal, Nigeria and Tunisia from CAF 14) Honduras, Panama (representing Central America), New Zealand (representing Oceania), Tahiti (representing Polynesia), Trinidad & Tobago (representing Caribbean). 15) India

What is the format of the tournament?

The 2022 FIFA World cup will be a 32-team tournament. The teams will be grouped into 8 groups of 4, with 3 teams advancing to the knockout stage. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the round of 16, with a one-game playoff between third place and second place if they are tied. If they are still tied after 90 minutes, there will be 30 minutes of extra time followed by a penalty shoot-out if necessary.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup will be held in Qatar, which is a first for an Arab country. The United States and Australia had earlier expressed interest in hosting the event but failed to meet FIFA's requirements. In order to host the event, a country needs to provide stadiums with a capacity of at least 40,000 people and more than one city that can host games. It must also have a climate-controlled stadium (as temperatures in Qatar are often over 50 degrees Celsius). There were talks about changing the dates of the event due to the scorching heat, but they were dismissed by FIFA president Gianni Infantino last year.

What are the ticket prices?

Ticket prices are yet to be determined. The only information that has been released is that there will be six price categories, which are likely to cost between $8 and $130. There will also be a limited number of tickets available for children under two years old at a discounted rate of $2 per ticket.

How can I follow it if I can't be there in person?

The good news is that you don't need to be in Qatar for 2022 if you want to follow the games. There are a number of ways to do so, from TV broadcasts and online streaming services to social media and virtual reality. For instance, NBCUniversal will offer more than 1,000 hours of coverage across all platforms, including TV broadcasts and live streams through the NBC Sports app. The matches will also be available to stream live on YouTube TV, which costs $40 per month.

There's even an option to get VR commentary of the matches thanks to Turner Sports' Bleacher Report Live VR experience with Intel True VR technology.

Conclusion

The upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup will take place in Doha, Qatar. The games are scheduled for November and December 2022, with 60 games taking place at eight different venues. To date, four of these venues have been confirmed to be Al Rayyan Stadium (Al Rayyan), Qatar Foundation Stadium (Doha), Khalifa International Stadium (Doha), and the Ras Abu Aboud Stadium (Doha). In total there will be 12 stadiums hosting matches with six being newly constructed.
