The Melbourne Stars are an Australian Twenty20 franchise cricket team located in Melbourne, Victoria, that participates in the Big Bash League, Australia's Twenty20 league. The Stars play their home games at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and wear green uniforms. Glenn Maxwell just set the Big Bash League record for the greatest individual score with 154* against the Hobart Hurricanes at the MCG.
The Melbourne Stars' official mascots are Starman and Starlet. The Stars added a secondary mascot, Steven Seagull, in BBL, a year after a seagull was struck by a cricket ball hit by Perth Scorchers batsman Adam Voges during a match between the Melbourne Stars and Perth Scorchers at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in BBL. Rob Quinney, the first person on the scene, instantly indicated that he feared the worst for the afflicted bird, which lay lifeless on the ground, before gingerly carrying it across the boundary rope and placing it back on the turf.
