The Brisbane Heat is a Big Bash League men's professional Twenty20 franchise cricket team from Australia. The Heat play in the Australian state of Queensland and wear teal uniforms. The Brisbane Cricket Ground, better known as The Gabba, is their home ground.
They won the Big Bash League for the first time in their second season, qualifying them for the Champions League Twenty20.
In the 2012/13 Big Bash League final, the Brisbane Heat beat the Perth Scorchers. On January 19, 2013, the match was held at the WACA Ground.
Due to the absence of captain James Hopes due to injury, Chris Hartley led the team and won the toss, opting to bat first. Joe Burns led the way for Brisbane, scoring 43 runs off 27 balls in a total of 167. For the Scorchers, Jason Behrendorff grabbed two wickets.
Kemar Roach of Barbados claimed three wickets for 18 runs. After bowling three overs for 11 runs and grabbing three catches, Nathan Hauritz was awarded man of the match.
