Not many know the fact that Yadav is the first Indian player who made his T20I, ODI and Test debut after the age of 30.

Suryakumar Ashok Yadav is a right-handed batsman and right arm medium bowler who plays for India. Yadav’s tremendous career started on February 11, 2010. He is playing both domestic and international cricket. 

Not many know the fact that Yadav is the first Indian player who made his T20I, ODI and Test debut after the age of 30. Yes, it is true talented players break records and make new history and Suryakumar Yadav is one of them. 

His domestic career involves playing for Parsi Gymkhana Cricket Club, Shivaji Park Gymkhana Club, Dadar Union Club, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, Ranji Trophy, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Indian Premier League. He served as captain for Ranji Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Mumbai team. 

Suryakumar Yadav’s IPL journey started with Mumbai Indians in 2012. In the year 2014, he was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders. While playing for KKR in 2015, he came into spotlight by scoring 46 runs out of 20 balls and propelled his team to the victory against Mumbai Indians at the Eden Gardens. Again in 2018, MI bought back it’s precious gem and preserve him with themselves till now. Even he will play for MI in the TATA IPL 2023. 

Reviewing Yadav’s domestic journey, he earned his maiden call-up in February 2021 and made his T20I debut in March 2021. In July 2021, Suryakumar Yadav debuted in One Day International (ODI) against Sri Lanka.  

Currently, Suryakumar Yadav is ranked as No.1 batsman in ICC Twenty 20. 

Debut in Test Match 

For ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy, Yadav’s name came in 17-member India test squad. His dream become into reality, when he was selected over Shubham Gill in the playing XI for India vs Australia series. On February 9, 2023, Suryakumar Yadav made his test debut in the IND vs AUS four-match Test Series of the Border Gavaskar Trophy at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur. In the opener match of the India vs Australia series, Yadav scored only 8 runs from 20 balls. 

India won the first match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy by an innings and 132 runs. 

Shreyas Iyer replaced Suryakumar Yadav 

For the second test of the ongoing India vs Australia Test Series, only one change occurred in Team India. Shreyas Iyer is selected over Suryakumar Yadav. Earlier Iyer was not able to play in first test due to his injury. Now he is fit and playing for the second series. 

Second Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy is playing at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. It has stared on February 17, 2023 at 9:30 am.  Australia have won the toss and elected to bat.
